A social network for developers
Caldera is a social network for developers built on GitHub and Obsidian. Each member gets a living profile and a GitHub city, follows other builders (mutual follows are friends), posts what they need or recommend on a Feed that reaches the people who match, and messages people directly.

The pieces
- Profile and city at caldera.social/@you, rebuilt from GitHub.
- Follow anyone; friends follow each other. Counts show under every name.
- Feed: two buttons, "I need..." and "I recommend...", plus a few words. Posts go to members whose work matches.
- Messages: friends write directly; others send one request first.
- World: every member's city on one map, friendships as rays of light.
- Groups: a town of cities at caldera.social/g/name for a team, class or community.
Built differently
Your profile comes from your work, not a form. With the Obsidian plugin it is generated on your own device from your vault and only what you switch on is published. The protocol, plugin and core library are open source.
